The outdoors has a connection problem
Millions of people want to get outside more, but they don't have anyone to go with. Solo adventurers struggle to find partners. Crews can't grow beyond their existing group chat. Outdoor businesses can't reach the communities that need them most.
Social media was supposed to fix this, but feeds built for passive scrolling don't create real world connections. The outdoor community deserved something purpose built.
So we built the platform ourselves
For Individuals
Create a profile, share what you love, and find nearby people who are into the same activities. No swiping. No matching. Just community.

Whether it's a weekend hiking group, a competitive climbing team, or a campus outdoor club, Crews get their own space to organize, grow, and connect with new members.

Outdoor businesses, guide services, gear shops, and organizations get a dedicated presence to reach engaged, local outdoor enthusiasts.
Our Origin
From a move to a mission
Always Outdoors started with a move and a realization.
When our founder relocated from San Diego to Salt Lake City to attend the University of Utah, he expected the hard part to be over. Salt Lake is surrounded by mountains in every direction. On paper, it was a dream.
But being surrounded by opportunity and actually getting outside are two different things. The hardest part wasn't finding places to go. It was finding the right people to go with.
The tools that existed did pieces of the job, but none of them were built around helping outdoor people find each other in a way that felt local, trusted, and easy to act on. The outdoors is one of the most community driven parts of life, yet the digital side of it felt fragmented.
That gap became the foundation of Always Outdoors.
Today, Always Outdoors is a social networking community app built from the ground up for outdoor enthusiasts. We are based in Salt Lake City, Utah, and our founder is currently enrolled in the University of Utah's Master of Business Creation program while building AO full time.
