Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Always Outdoors.

Always Outdoors is a social networking community app that connects outdoor enthusiasts. Whether you hike, climb, bike, ski, paddle, or ride, AO helps you find nearby individuals, join crews, and plan real adventures. Think of it as the social platform built specifically for people who love being outside.

No. AO is a social connection platform, not a navigation or trail discovery tool. Our focus is helping you find people to get outside with, not routes or waypoints. There are great trail apps out there. We're the community layer that sits alongside them.

Yes. Always Outdoors is completely free to download, create a profile, join crews, and connect with other outdoor enthusiasts. We are committed to keeping the core community experience free.

AO has three account types: Individual (for single users), Crew (for groups, clubs, and teams), and Company (for outdoor businesses and organizations). Each type is designed for how that kind of user actually operates in the outdoor community.

AO is available on both iOS and Android. We launched with a focus on the Wasatch Front in Utah, but anyone anywhere can download and use the app.

Those platforms are general purpose. AO is built from the ground up for outdoor enthusiasts. Every feature, every design decision, and every community tool is purpose built for people who want to get outside with other people. No news feeds, no irrelevant content.

Download the app, create your Crew account, then use the Crew creation flow to set up your group. You can name your crew, describe what you do, set your location, and start inviting members.

Absolutely. Company accounts are designed for outdoor businesses, guide services, gear shops, nonprofits, and organizations. You get a dedicated presence to reach engaged local outdoor enthusiasts.
